Fewer than 6,517 adult cheetahs remain in the wild. Once numbering over 100,000, they have lost 91% of their historic range.

THE THREAT

Over 76% of their range is unprotected land, where farmers kill them to protect livestock. The illegal pet trade, habitat loss, and a dangerously low genetic diversity make every threat harder to survive.
