Instinct was born from a fascination with the quiet power of wild cats — how they move through the world with such poise, such purpose, so effortlessly in tune with their surroundings. The iberian lynx, with its piercing stare and almost ghost-like presence, embodies that deep, untamed knowing.
In painting ‘Instinct’, I wanted to capture more than just the beauty of the animal — I wanted to capture that feeling of intensity just beneath the surface. That moment of stillness where everything feels heightened. The lynx is a creature of silence and survival, deeply rooted in the wild, and its instincts are sharp, ancient, and unshakable.
As an artist, I’m always trying to reflect the spirit of the animals I paint — not just their appearance, but the emotion they carry, the atmosphere they create. With Instinct, it’s about raw awareness. About tuning into the part of ourselves that listens, watches, feels. That remembers how to move through the world with quiet strength.
This painting invites you to reconnect with that part of yourself — the part that knows without needing to be told.
